There are many people that still rely on public spaces to get connected to the internet. The vote to have online access at home is pretty strong though. Because there are so many places to hop on the net around for free many people don't think there is a real pressing need to pay an internet provider at home. If you think about it, there are some pretty good arguments for staying online at home.

The best thing about using a web provider in a public space is that it is free. That is pretty basic. Generally although you are not paying for the free Wi-Fi, you usually do have to buy something to sit wherever you are. If you are in a coffee shop or a cafe, they will expect you to drink some beverage or have lunch if you are sitting there using their Wi-Fi.

Some people like that they are sitting in a cafe surrounded by people while online. For others though this can be very distracting. If you actually have work to do then being engulfed in noise and activity can be very overwhelming. People that are basically just playing online won't be too worried about the distractions. They are enjoying themselves and probably making plans to get together for more fun. For work or study, it is important to have space and time.

If you are a working professional or student, with family and kids, finding the time to actually go to the free public access, might be out of the question; unless you are ok with taking away from quality family time, plus the expense of going there early in the morning or late in the evening. A Internet connection at home allows you to be home when you need to be and still have the option of working or studying in the comfort, safety and quietness of your own domain.

There really is no reason for anyone who wants to get connected at home, to be without a web connection. In most homes and apartments , two basic standard options are the phone lines or the cable lines. Both are an excellent and reliable way of staying connected to the Internet from the comfort of your home 24/7. All others have the option of satellite internet service, for the same 24/7 connection anywhere on the planet, regardless of how remote.
